The Pokémon Company recently announced the upcoming release of a premium box set called Pokémon TCG Classic during their annual Pokémon Day livestream. This set, Pokemon TCG Classic Box Set, designed to evoke nostalgia and create a timeless Pokémon TCG experience, is slated for release in late 2023 in English and in October 2023 in Japan. A Fusion of Classic and New Cards

The Pokémon TCG Classic Box Set not only brings back the original 150-card Base Set from the late 90s but also introduces never-before-seen cards. The decks feature the iconic Base Set Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur as depicted below alongside new additions like Ho-Oh ex and Lugia ex. Each card showcases a unique holofoil pattern distinct from the Celebrations set and new numbering exclusive to this release. You can see the beautiful new cards below. Premium Decks with Kanto First Partner Pokémon

The set offers three pre-constructed decks, each containing 60 cards and focused on the fully evolved Kanto first partner Pokémon: Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise. These decks combine the classic cards with newly printed ones, allowing players to create fresh strategies and experience new battle dynamics. Please note that aside from Basic Energy cards, the cards in these decks are not legal for tournament play. The decks are designed for friendly battles with friends and family.

It includes a foldable game board with card placement zones and a central compartment for storing up to three decks and a toolbox containing essential battle accessories. The Japanese version of the product will cost 35,000 yen (approximately $275) and will be available via lottery starting in February, which unfortunately has happened. English pricing and release information have yet to be announced.
